We are looking for a motivated Business Development Associate who will be responsible for supporting the EMEA Business Development team. This entails proactively identifying and engaging with prospective clients, booking meetings for Business Development Managers (BDMs) to introduce Stylus, initiating cold outreach campaigns and supporting the team to achieve revenue targets.This role offers potential progression to a BDM role. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Understand the profile of Stylus’ customer base and target markets in order to identify/prioritise the most likely prospects (e.g., clients’ competitors, similar size/nature businesses, key markets/business attributes, key job functions)
  • Conduct market research to identify the best people to contact within prospective client companies (‘decision-makers’), understand their needs and how Stylus can benefit them
  • Proactively interact with prospective clients via telephone and email and document these communications clearly within the CRM system
  • Articulate the Stylus product offering and how it can be used as a business tool by sharing the most relevant types of report examples and customer case studies according to particular prospect types
  • Meet set training targets and milestones to continually progress to the next level of the role
  • Support the BDM team by booking a total of over 20 new meetings per month, and helping with ad-hoc admin tasks
  • Support Stylus trials by joining the introductory calls, following up with relevant reports and checking usage to ensure the prospects stay engaged
  • Manage inbound sales enquiries

Required skills & qualifications

  • This role would suit someone who has up to one year’s experience in a related role, ideally gained in a design or marketing agency
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrable ongoing interest in innovation and trends in the creative consumer industries, marketing, brand and design-related disciplines
  • A high degree of professionalism
  • Strong organisational skills, able to multitask and manage own workload
  • Exposure to and interest in developing sales techniques including negotiating, influencing and networking skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Enjoys working independently but within a strategic framework
  • Capable of being a self-starter who can demonstrate enthusiasm and drive
  • Confident telephone manner
  • Target-driven and keen to achieve results
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications
  • Experience with a CRM system preferred but not essential
